Since when is 28mpg highway a gas killer? How is 3400-3500lbs heavy (with 350hp)? Since when is within 0.04g's of an rx7 on a skid pad poor handling? That civic is trying to turn, brake, and accelerate with the same 2 tires.

At the end of the day you have a 2 thousand dollar civic with 3x its value invested in it. For 8k i can find you a 6 speed f-body with heads and cam that makes over 450whp and runs bottom 11's. Yes i said 28mpg highway. Do you think a 400whp civic is going to get much better? Ha. City mileage is in the 17 to 18 range.

I just averaged about 22 mpg with the g35 for the first tank lol. Then again, I was beating the snot out of it so I probably could have done better. Regardless, ls motors get good fuel economy compared to similar cars and 91 octane isn't a necessity.
