I use MEK and lots of it. Methyl ethyl ketone. Brake parts cleaner, contact cleaner, it has lots of names. Its the fastest thing and it degreases instantly. With stuff like the oil pan and pick up tube i use mek then degreaser and a brush. Rinse with with water, dry with compressed air. Mek again to remove any residue, dry with compressed air. Parts are like new.
