huh. You sure about that? I remember reading somewhere about these engine weights, and I thought the LS1 weighed like double the F20C's weight. I could be wrong though, I don't read much about S2000s.

LS1+T56 is about 85lbs heavier than an F20C+tranny

Everyone thinks its heavy because it is a V8... They are actually pretty small in physical size. They just displace a lot...

The light weight is a big reason why RX7 guys love it so much.

Hmm.... ~100lbs more weight, 500rwhp with ease, he could build it to ~650rwhp N/A if he wanted, +nitrous.... or boost...

An F20C isn't going to stand a chance. Boosted F20C's make <500rwhp when fully built. I can make that on a stock bottom end LS1.

The F20C is weaksauce. And it wasn't an LS1 guy sticking his dick in an S2000. It was a guy with an S2000 looking for a better motor.

The rotary is already a heavy engine though, and even then the LS1 swap still adds 28 pounds. I just can't see it, do you have exact weights of both drivetrains?

LS1+T56 not dressed is ~510lbs. The best figure I can find on an F20C+tranny is "Low 400's". I guesstimated 425lbs. The LS1+T56 with all the accessories, PS,ECU, wiring harness, fluids, clutch, everything weighs a tick over 600lbs. That is the weight of an LS1 if you pulled it plus trans and left everything attached to it. There isn't much documentation on the F20C.

The LS1 swap weighs a little more than a 13b but a good bit less than a 20b

The LS1 is a very small engine. It is a V so it doesn't need that much space to pack the cylinders in. About the size of a minifridge oil pan to intake.

Oh, and talk about heavy, that 2JZ is longer than an LS1 and a 2JZ+Getrag weighs over 750lbs and that isn't fully dressed. That is as much as a cast iron old school small block with iron heads, an iron intake and a Turbo 400 giant ass automatic.

Chances are its still gonna be close to 200 pounds more though. Thats more than abit of weight added for a car like that.

That low 400 number isn't dressed completely.

I'd say it is close to 150 max. That Ls1 weight is with 2 heavy ass exhaust manifolds also. Headers don't weigh shit. Differences in the weight of the driver will make a bigger change than adding ~150lbs to the car. I don't think he was setting it up to be a track car anyway. He kept the weight balance the same by moving the engine back some.
