Yes he knows what JDM is. He had a turbo B series. If I'm correct he is calling the whole JDM trend rice because it is just that, a trend. It's a fad. Making your USDM car look JDM is a waste of time and money. It's pointless and shows no performance gains. It's done just to be "cool." That makes it rice.

well technically the term "rice" came from imports being slanged "riceburners" in the 70's and the drivers being called "ricers", then when the import community took to ridiculously ugly cosmetic mods it got called "ricey". so in a way calling all japanese cars rice is correct in the origination of the term, though the term in todays slang has to do simply with unnecessary visual modifications.
