Why does it matter how fast the car is? You still shift roughly the same speed. The specs of the car dont really effect how shitty of a shifter you are.
I've driven my buddy's 06 STi, which has like 370-380 awhp on a conservative tune. Never miss-shifted that.

Ive done a bunch of drag runs and I've missed a few times. Frustrating

slow, deliberate shifting is going to prevent you from missing shifts on any car. the power and type dont matter lol. It has nothing to do with "shitty driving". Your adrenaline is pumping and you miss a short shift when you are trying to slam through gears as fast as possible. You've never done 1st to 4th or 3rd to 2nd on accident?
The speed/power of a car DOES matter. When you powershift a car you are disengaing the clutch for a very short interval. That allows the engine to free spin. The more power the engine is making the faster it is going to rev while the clutch is disengaged. When the engine revs faster and you are trying to hit the same shift point as before you have to either shift faster or raise the rev limiter. Well what if your peak power is right below (200rpm or less) your limiter and your limiter is set as high as it can safely go? Now you have 200rpm or less to make the gear change with the engine free revving and it is moving much faster than before. Most modded cars have an aftermarket clutch and flywheel that are almost always lighter than OEM. That makes it spin even faster.
You also have to think about the way synchronizers and gears work inside your transmission. The more torque (force) you apply to them while they are in gear the faster they will accelerate when the clutch is disengaged and they can free spin. That means when you go to engage the next gear they are moving faster than they would if you were making less power. That means the synchros have to compensate for more speed differential. That makes it harder to shift it properly. You do realize that you can "Miss a gear" without actually missing the gate on the shifter? If you haven't experienced that then you aren't driving anything faster than a minivan. You see there is a lot more to it than putting your hand in the right spot. I wouldn't expect you to ask yourself why it might be harder with more power and then go through the theory of it. You are just a parts swapper.
I can hop in a bolt on F-body that runs mid 12's and powershift it for days without missing anything. The second I'm in a Heads/Cam car it's a whole different story. Over 600rwhp... It's a crap shoot until you've had a lot of practice.
I won't be powershifting the formula anymore even though I love driving it hard. The transmission just won't take it with the ~800rwtq it will be making. It's a huge shock on the whole drivetrain. It's fast though... Myself and several other people have HPTuners (aftermarket PCM operating system used to tune LSX's) logs where our 1-2 and 3-4 shifts are 100ms or less. That's faster than most of the early DSG trannies.
