I've never talked to him or fred pre-roadkill.

I think friberger is a douche the more and more I hear him talk..

hes a little self important, but the guy is just a wealth of knowledge.

unfortunatly the "traditional" car guy thing is dieing more and more with each passing generation and less and less of it is getting passed/handed down/learned

its truly unfortunate. there is so much that some of these guys know its inceadable

It is sad.

I bet if you picked out 100 car enthusiasts under 30 years old 1 of them could tune a carb...

Speaking of carbs.

I was at the track a couple weeks ago talking to an older fella (late 70's would be my guess). He was out with his grandson making some passes in his car. The car was an older gremlin running a ford big block with an 88mm turbo. With a blow-through carb.

Car looked like shit and you can tell it was built without the fancy tools. Car ran 9.40 after 9.40 after 9.40 all fucking night long. His grandson must have made a dozen passes and they were all within .1 of a second difference.

Was fun chatting with him.

youre probably right, if i were in that group of 100, there would be at least 1

i have such a love/hate with carbs its not even funny. at this point ive started telling people, if its not holley or edelbrock based, i dont even want to fuck with it lol

its not that i cant, its that i dont want to work on your shit, and i really dont want to work on your shit for free.

also, if you have a Demon Carb, throw it away lol

Holley actually makes some of the better bolt on carb's i've seen.

Talking from a 300-450hp small block perspective. Anything over that and yea.. I would agree with you.

I'm not a slap it on and run it out of the box guy. The 650 and 750 holley carbs I've messed with have not held their adjustment worth a damn. The edelbrock carbs had adjustment curves that looked like supra dyno graphs. The 1 demon I've worked on leaked from the float bowl out of the box and nearly set the truck on fire. Out of the 3 the holley did the best job.
