probably because you feed it half its rated power.

it can get way louder then i would ever want it to be. why would you tune your system to max it doesnt sound as good and obviously isnt going to be good for the sub.

if you don't use crap like xplod you can do what you want. i can get better sound quality out of a double rms FI BTL than you can get out of your sub.

and whats not good for your subs is being made as cheap as possible and using crap gimmicks like stupid non circular shapes.

i dont think that anyone would argue the fact that more expensive ones are built better and work better. but to say that an xplod is trash and will only last 2 months just isnt true... thats all i was saying.

i've seen them last much less than that at rated power. damn things are factually unreliable, sound bad, might cause ear cancer.
