The new Hemi isn't even a Hemi. It's just a name and logo

This.

Everything is technically a "hemi" nowadays.

Also, if you are looking at a hemi getting good mileage. Forget it. They are god awful.
I tried a 6.4L 3/4 ton for the shop. It never seen 10 mpg...ever.
I used to own a 5.7L 3/4ton that I towed my bumper pull camper (12k empty) from central Wisconsin to Houston Texas. Got a hand calculated 5.2 mpg for the entire trip.

If you want a dodge that gets good mileage, go rob a bank and buy a diesel. If you want a truck that gets good mileage. Go buy a GM product.

My 07' Charger had a 5.7l/v8 Hemi and I got about 16-18 MPG. I guess I assumed to get at least 18 with a newer RAM.

Gas mileage is a concern as it'll be my everyday vehicle. I want to at least get 18 MPG.

How is that not possible? I'm talking between the 3 trucks, not just the Hemi engine (RAM truck).

Loaded high country silverados and gmc Denali trucks are over $60k sticker now for a half ton without dealer installed options. A loaded 2500 diesel will set you back $72k-$75k.

My Z06 was similar in price to the truck back in 2001.

Buying a 1-2 year old truck with under 20k miles is probably the most fiscally responsible route. I intended to buy a 12 or 13 model but they were still $30k- $35k for a nice one. After the rebates on the 14 I was barely over that and it had 27 miles on it.

w/e man

enjoy bleeding out money on a truck anyone could pick up for half what you paid

my 8500lb boats get 20-23mpg

Only downside is anything I'll ever save in fuel was spent in the motor package.
