I'm by no means a manual elitist, despite only owning manual vehicles. I personally think there is a time and place for both. If given the choice, I'll almost always choose stick though.

There is a saying that this thread made me think of.

"Do you want to ride to 60 in three seconds, or do you want to drive there in 5?"

Agreed. My grocery getters are auto. My 1/4 cars are auto. I would never drive a car meant to carve corners as an auto. That takes away like 90% of the experience.

I would also like to make a point on making automatic corvettes to get sales up. They have always done this. But there was never an automatic for the Z06. The regular Corvette is the vehicle for somebody who buys the car for its looks. The Z06 was the car for people who wanted to drive a Corvette.

I want to drive there in sub 2.0. That would make me smile.

Who cares which one is faster? It's a drivers car, its about the experience. There's a reason they didn't offer the Z06 in an automatic. It wasn't the model built for females and 80 year old men.

I figured you did considering you said he doesn't want a manual because he isn't going to "use" the car.
I'm assuming you meant speed? I can't think of anything else you woulda meant. If he wants to race, mod etc the auto is faster so unless he wants to shift his own gears whats the downside?

When it comes to cars, its generally a bad idea to target a subgroup of an already small group. Not many people can afford an $80K+ car in the first place, if you further limit your market to only manual drivers, you'll soon find yourself in the same spot as the SRT Viper. That's just poor business strategy. GM understood this and released both auto and manual so that everyone who wanted the car can drive it. Now the C7 is the bestselling 2-seater in America and ranked 4th in sports car sales.

Until the 8L90E they couldn't offer an auto that gave the road course performance that a 6 speed manual did. That is why the C5 FRC, C5 Z06, C6 Z06, and C6 ZR1 were not offered with an auto. Sales were never a problem. The guys that wanted an auto got an auto car. The guys that wanted to pony up the cash for the extra performance of a Z06 were getting a Z06. The base was a great car. The Z06 was/is the driver's car.

I think i would go b1 black on the paddle shifter, they really do get in the way on a daily driver

tbh i would never take it out of drive unless your doing a burnout lol

And tbh i didnt notice much of a difference in wheel 2 and 3 but i think i prefer the 1st, no need to complicate things, clean and simple

Wheel 2 and 3 is the same design, but wheel 3 has the OEM aluminum bezel + OEM shifters and wheel 2 has a carbon fiber bezel with B2 shifters.

TBH I've never "switched out" paddle shifters before on any of my older cars so I've never actually used larger one to know the difference. I thought it was just kinda cool and definitely an option to consider. For daily driving, if they get in the way as say, do you think its better if I just stick to the OEM ones that come with the wheel? Since I have no way to "test them out" and get a feel; I am asking people who might know. Once i place the order, it will run me 200$ + 50$ installation fee that I can't undo.

Well ive never actually driven the new corvette but from having conversations with people that have cars with paddle shifters some absolutely love them and some say they get in the way, this is referring to people that drive them at road coarse events and such aswell as street

I wouldn't be highly concerned with it, and again i still like the b1, but depending on your hands b2 is slightly more attractive imo

I just dont think you will be using the paddle shifters much and don't really need the larger ones (and again why risk them being in the way for accidental upshifts or downshifts)

Maybe if you are worried about it being pronounced you should get them in silver :o

Get a manual if u want to manually shift it, its more fun that way and you can make it sound cooler too when your driving around lmao

I hear ya. And its gonna sound really dumb, but I'm getting them PURELY for looks lolol. I'm very aware that I probably won't be downshifting all that often xD

9/10 of the People who launch the car and race say its best to let the car shift itself since its an auto
