It's a Vette. It'll be fine. You're in Virginia, how often do you get snow?

It looks like a couple lol

Edit: I make right at $100k/yr, I have no student loans, I bought a $140k house in an area where the cost of living is half of yours, I owe $35k combined on my vehicles and $20k on some land and other miscellaneous things. I carry no CC debt. My wife makes about $50k/yr and we have no kids.

I'm still not in a position where I can truly do whatever I want. We live very well but kids will tighten things up if neither of us makes more money. When I made $40k I thought I would be able to do so much with $60k. When I made 60k it was 100k. Now I make 100k and my wife adds another $12k towards bills annually. I feel like I had more expendable income when I made $40k.

This is just food for thought. If you overextend yourself you won't be able to enjoy life and you will voluntarily add stress to your family's situation. If you are like me a 6 figure job has enough stress on it's own. Just because you can afford something doesn't mean you should. I bought a $26k C5 Z06 when I could have had a base C7 Z06. I'm also going to the NFC championship game in Charlotte on a whim. I couldn't do that with a $1000/mo car payment on top of everything else.

Yea... I have no student debt or credit card debt either. Holy crap 140k house, I wish I lived in your area :/

With 6 figures and only 1 car, your wife must spend a boat load for you to have to be so careful. I guess I'm unlucky with my area having such a high cost of living, but lucky in the gf aspect in that she almost spends nothing per month. Maybe, I'll reconsider and get a 2016 2LT or 2015 3LT instead of a brand new fully loaded 3LT. I have until May to decide anyway. All I know is that I can't get a c6 for the life of me, I just don't like the way it looks haha. (Wasn't a fan of corvettes until this model came out)

The snow will protect it from bird poop.

Only thing it would possibly do is wear on your exposed rubber seals like around the windows,I guess. Maybe cause some moisture inside....I don't think it's anything serious. If that concerned, clear off the snow from the roof, windows, etc. How long you planning on keeping it in the first place?

O my concern wasn't about the snow I'm getting tomorrow. I won't actually be buying anything until May 2016. This post was whether it was a bad idea or not to park my car outdoors for the next 1-2 years.

I want a car upgrade (gf is taking over the benz once shes out of college), but my dilemma is since I don't have a garage to park it in; only a driveway. Is it worth paying that much for a car, only to have it sit outside and be exposed to the elements? (Will an outdoor car cover be sufficient?)

its a shitload of money to be parking it outside.
can you set aside the money in an account and then later on buy your dream car.
