lol you're a joke

Also, your argument, according to what you're saying, is that you pretty much only look and care about horsepower. How is that a good approach when looking at cars?

You're not being realistic and answering the simple question. You are dodging everything I am saying and only using your personal opinion to make your argument.

Sloppy spelling is because I was using talk to text/type.

I read exactly what your said, you didn't answer my question.

They aren't going to raise the weight significantly, period.

They also aren't going to pump 300 hp from a 2.0l engine from factory.....you're being completely unrealistic.

Again, I'm not asking for your taste in cars, I'm asking what would be acceptable to the general market so that car reviewers won't say " everything is perfect about this car, except for the lack of horsepower." And truthfully, they didn't say they needed much more.

You've been arguing with this brz dick rider for the last 3 years.

You. Clearly don't understand the concept of this Boortz car. I am asking what would be an acceptable amount of horsepower given the specifications of the car to market this car successfully from the factory.
I don't care what your personal taste in cars is, but there are plenty of car enthusiasts who truly believe a lighter car is better driving. I don't know how you can argue that driving and overweight car is more fun than a lightweight car if horsepower figures were relevant to the car size and performednearly the same.

Good morning, you are up early princess

Apparently those enthusiasts aren't buying them? Or there really aren't that many of you.

The thing is as slow as a pickup truck...

The last part of your post can't be serious... it doesn't perform nearly the same. Those cars that weigh 800lbs more have over 2x the power. It isn't proportional. I did answer your question earlier. 10lbs/hp is the bare minimum to make a car feel quick/sporty. Look at cars marketed as such these days. Most have even more than that.

Plenty of enthusiasts are buying them. Like I said, there have been plenty of people I've seen have gtrs, Porsches, and other high performing cars who also buy a twin for track.

youre right, power to weight it's always exactly proportional, but you can feel the weight driving heavier cars, and there is no situation where feeling heavier weight is beneficial.

So you're saying that at 27xxlbs, the brz needs around 270 hp. That could be achieveable with a 2.5l engine which isn't out of the question.

There's more to a sports car than horsepower....the driving position alone is enough and better than nearly every new car under 35k. Not to mention you get a great platform to work with.

This thread is about the survival of the model due to poor sales. My point was either the enthusiasts aren't buying them, or there really aren't as many enthusiasts out there that share your viewpoint as you think. Car manufacturing is a business. You can't change people's minds on what they want in a car. You have to build the car to sell. They blocked themselves off into a corner.

enthusaists ARE buying them............................................................

The sales aren't really that bad. It's a niche car. it's low volume, like a miata.

I can't tell you how many countless times where people have a price range of x-50k+ and they buy a brz.

I'm not just pulling shit out of my ass, I've been on ft86club for years, everyday.

U.S figures

Subaru sold more 2013 and 2014 brzs than Mazda sold 2013 and 2014s and are nearly tied for the month of January (miata sold 8 more units)

not to mention the FRS sales are triple the miata.
