well, a cooler motor is always better for wear and tear on parts. If its designed to handle 220F, that means it can handle anything under it also lol. 40$ for the jet tstat, for a cooler motor, especially how i drive it, is worth the slight peace of mind knowing it isnt glowing under the hood lol

Not really. Like I said, a lower temperature means less evaporation of water and harmful combustion byproducts from your oil. That is a negative.

The clearances and tolerances for all of the parts in your engine are designed around a certain oil temperature range. I can't say what they are but running it cooler means less expansion and tighter clearances overall. That could lead to more wear. Our Aluminum LSX's grow .006-.010 on the mains from cold to hot. The iron blocks only a couple thousandths.

There is no benefit outside of possibly being able to run another degree of timing without detonation. There is a good chance that won't make an appreciable power difference though.

The timing thing is one thing i remember people mentioning. Cuz they would do the tstat mod and 93 tune and mentioned something about less chance of detonation.

As for the clearance/tolerances, i realize that much. But if the motor can run fine when its -20 out and for the 15 minutes it takes to get to operating temp, im sure it can handle a few degrees colder operating temp in general lol

Handling it is one thing. Being ideal is another. This is a "mod' that has beaten to death for a while and it's been proven over and over again that the ideal engine temp is close to stock. Millions of dollars of research set it there for a reason. Unless you are road racing and having a hard time keeping the oil from overheating it's pointless. If you want to do it just for the hell of it be my guest but buying a trinity tuner just to do a Tstat and change fan temps seems like overkill.

I run a 160tstat in my spirit r/t, but that car is a whole nother animal haha. Speaking of which, i got a cash offer for it yesterday. So it might be gone soon. Which is whatever, i ate its fill of exotics on 67 by road america haha. Had my fun with it, time to sell it and get that 68 dart, so i can jam a big block in it and do wheelies and shit lol.

Well, i do live like, you know, right next to road america and plan on running some events there for fun when we rent out the track. I didnt get a front and rear strut tower brace, sub frame connectors and cradle for no reason lol. I want to autocross this hog B) So yeah, ill be pounding the piss out of it more then normal.

The trinity is its own digi gauge pod lol. It can display 6 different things at teh same time.. Its cheaper then buying the pods and gauges separate so it pays for itself right there

Im planning on getting this also :)
