Neither N54 or N55 are "always blowing a turbo". You're pulling shit out your ass. N55 turbos are not experiencing the issues N54 turbos were.
Bigger turbo, less psi, more power. That's it. Nothing to do with efficiency.
Fan Bois are funny
lol pulling shit out of my ass? my buddies 135i has had 3 different turbos installed in 2 years
more power? less psi? both motors are rated at 300hp with the same 6psi, one does it with 2 small turbos, one does it with one "big" turbo.
n54 has 0 turbo lag, n55 has a good bit
n54 has extremely high low end torque, n55 has decent at most mediocre
n55 is a more fuel efficient and economy class motor
the n54 is a more performance based motor that is a much better platform, with a much better arranged engine (bay).
i guess the m4's went twin turbo again for no reason amirite? i guess the s55 is just as bad of a motor as the n54. stupid bmw should have just kept the big single turbo
too bad they went a step backwards with the n55 block or the s55 could have a lot more than 450 hp with 18 psi, i get 440 with 14psi in my n54 while still having 22city/35highway
