I have nothing against Hyundai but wonder what you in particular like about this car?

I see where you are coming from. But I saw a couple that had some aftermarket parts on it and it looked pretty cool. I really wanted to rally it out at least.

I really like that its a smaller car. It is what I prefer, and it's hard finding a smaller newer car. They always feel so spacious to me, but at the same time. It is hatch back and the rear seats can go down, so for when I do ever need to put some stuff in it. I also found a good variety of aftermarket goodies for it, Coil overs, Exhaust. All that. And they see about 37 MPG. Which, in my current case. I do drive quite a bit for work. So it would help my gas bill.
And, I'd like something turbo'd. The FRS also isn't Turbo'd. and I don't have time to make one turbo since I work 60 hrs a week.
Thats kind of my reasoning.

It actually is.....

It's the spiritual successor with front engine, rear-wheel drive, and light-weight.

The GT86 was completely inspired by the AE86.

Just get the Veloster Turbo (since you really enjoy it), new, or some of the other options we have given you.  You have plenty of options within your price range.  You also have plenty of option very slightly above your price range.

Yeah that is true. I am still going to Test drive an FRS to see how I feel about it. I still like the car though. But yeah you are right. There are other options too. I just know, I want something Japanese. Something sporty. And can do a couple of aftermarket goodies, ya know?

Trying not to be super biased, but the brz/frs will be a much superior drive over the veloster turbo. That's factual, however they will push about the same speed times. The brz/frs is an entry level sports car and is very often referred to as, the poor man's Porsche. The driving position of the brz/frs is unmatched to anywhere close to the price range.

However, you'll achieve greater mpg with the veloster and the hatch look that you enjoy.

The brz/frs is really small, little trunk, and the backseat space is almost non existant (but the seats to fold completely flat).
