My first car was a 375hp 80 Camaro. never crashed sold it when I bought my 98 formula 2 years later. I had the fastest car in high school. But it's about respecting what you have and it will respect you back.. I bought it with my money that I earned over 2 years of work even though my parents told me the whole time they would chip in and buy me something. I knew buying my first car myself would help me know to treat it right and not be stupid with it. When it did come time to buy though I asked my parents for help with insurance since I was buying it myself and they basically told me to fuck myself lol. I didn't actually expect help from them but just wanted to see. I had a good job any way as a plumbers assistant after school every day which paid really well so really didn't need the help.

wasn't exactly what I wanted but when it popped up for sale since I was looking for a 73 or so split bumper I was like shit what im going to get a ragged on 73 for just pick up the Hideous shit brown and gold 80 Camaro that is fast lol. All I did to it was pick up some crager wheels and maintnence and got 2 years out of it, in jersey we got our license at 17 so I drove it from 17 to 19 then got my formula.

what was even funnier is all the kids at school with Hondas and integras always trying to race, but knowing they stand no chance I didn't really have any fun on the street. Mainly going to the track only.

I didn't say everyone wrecks their first car, the majority of the driving population does however do something stupid with their first car that gets it damaged.  The higher the power and the less experience someone has the more trouble they could possibly have driving said car around all the time.  Besides that you should get some junkie old beater for under three grand and learn to appreciate what you have and that it gets you from place to place.

Yeah you did say that, and that's why I called you an idiot.

"Everyone crashes their first car guaranteed, its just a matter of how badly you do it - and the possibility of you hurting yourself goes up with the horsepower in said graph."

You clearly said exactly that, and even said guaranteed, just to eliminate any chance of that car surviving.

My first car was an 88 Mustang LX, that I swaped a 350 into. Car had been sold, and still drives. I have a video and a few pics of the car when I got it at 15 years old. Sold it at 17, then picked up an 02 Z06, which also still drives great. Pics in my profile. I've owned more vehicles that I care to count, and I have never had an accident, not even one that wasn't my fault.

Not everybody is a complete idiot when they're a teenager.

This is also true. I drove a couple different cars from the time i got my license until I bought my formula. I knew to take care of them because i was taught to do so. I bought the 99 Formula during my senior year and ran 11's with it. Drove it to school, etc. The only thing i ever victimized were tires. And that was rare because i paid for them myself.

Some kids grow up faster than others and not all parents are created equal. My little brother will be getting an auto 4th gen Fbody when he gets his license. He doesn't have the off road background i did so i'm going to use HP Tuners to put a training wheels tune on it for the first 6 months.

I guess I did say that and I apologize for exaggerating for effect, but a lot of people do manage to screw up their first car and that stands to reason that you shouldn't get something with a ton of power to do so in.
