lol I mean the truck itself.. although it does look decent all dirty  ;)

I may be a chevy guy but I can appreciate a nice truck

I'm starting to hate mine. Well, not hate, but I'm getting annoyed. All of the DODGE issues are stupid, the drivetrain is great though. Since the 2014 GM trucks are out the GMT900's dropped a couple grand in a month. I might trade it in on a 2010-2013 lightly used 2LT or LTZ 1500 with a 5.3 or 6.0, whatever I find. This Ram has only depreciated a little over $1,000 in the 2 years I've had it so it wouldn't be a bad trade in situation.

Oh I completely agree with you there. My buddy has an 05 mega cab with 120K miles. The drivetrain is perfect but the truck is falling apart around it :P

Edit- To his credit the thing does look nice and it tows a big ass trailer like its not there

Power sliding rear window came off the track. Dodge had the great idea of making it 1 sealed unit so the whole rear window section has to be replaced to fix it. -Not gonna happen

Passenger side power mirror stopped working

Right turn signal flashes fast every 3rd or 4th time I use it like a bulb is out.

Left rear brake light is intermittent

ABS and Brake lights are on saying the VIN doesn't match the VIN in the ABS module, probably means it's crapped out. - Not gonna happen

Has the typical 06 tachometer failure incoming. It reads 500rpm at idle now so it will be going out in the next couple thousand miles. The whole cluster has to be replaced to fix it. -Not gonna happen

I think the fucking blend door in the HVAC broke when I went from cold to heat 2 weeks ago. I know how susceptible these things are to breaking so I only move the adjustment knob twice a year and it still broke. So the AC works but it is stuck blending with a little heat. It's not a big deal now but it will be in the spring and fixing it requires pulling the dash or trying to fish it through a vent. -Not gonna happen

Couple that with the fact that it is at 105k miles now so it will need a clutch soon ($1200), the harmonic balancer is going to need replacing($400), and I'm starting to get the faintest puff of smoke on a cold start (Injectors need to be pulled and checked $500-$2500 depending on what is found)... I think now is a good time to PUNT it without taking any loss. You very rarely see a cummins truck on a dealer lot around here without a billion miles and I've never seen a 6 speed. I know I can get good money for it on trade with a couple little things and some shine. The paint has been kept in very good shape and it has NO rust even though it spent most of it's life in Michigan.

If I get the ABS and Brake light off, fix the blinker issue and the brake light issue I'll head to the dealer when they get a trade in I like. Fair trade in on the truck is still 18k ish. Good condition is closer to 20. The trucks I'm looking at are going for $23k-$26k. If I can get 18k on trade I'll only be financing $13k-16k on a 1-3 year old truck with under 40k miles and factory warranty remaining. I would keep my current loan terms and have it paid off in 2 years. That one I could keep for a while.

It's a common theme. It's sad considering how basic the interior is and the electronics SHOULD be. I wanted a GM truck to start with but they were out of the price range I was looking at back then. 08 silverados were $30k with nice options and 07 up duramax trucks started at 30k for a work truck model.

Even being a 2wd there is NO reason you can't get 24k for that truck private. trading that truck in will kill you. trust me lol.

as for all of your problems. It sounds ot me like what you could really use is twin cp3 kit, 2 fass 150's, s400, and 150hp sticks. (might want a clutch for that application as well and stud the head while you're digging around)

should be good for 800whp

If I sold it private I would fix most of the problems first. I'm prepping land to build another house so time isn't something I have in spades. I'll have to see what they offer me on trade. If it's too low I'll find a way to fix the simplest stuff and list it private. I've never really bought into the trade in thing but selling things worth more than $10k privately can be time consuming.

yea i hear ya. 2wd makes it a tougher sale but you do live down south so it wouldnt be as bad as up here. I'd like to find a 2wd rig for the shop to beat around in.

Luckily haven't had too many issues with my truck the abs module went , but it was covered under warranty. I bent my axle housing and seals were leaking, but that's my fault.

The 68rfe sketches me out though, putting in a revmax 550 soon.
