Nothing wrong with an automatic. Lots of drag cars are auto these days as you cant beat the consistency or a well tuned auto. About the only thing that makes a manual better these days is the fun factor or for more control for stuff like autocross.
That being said, I love having a manual  :D 



Its called a job bro, you should try it. I bought my Mustang when I was in college, granted it was a good bit cheaper and used.
