My first car was a 1996 Nissan Maxima that my mom gave to me in 2004. I loved it until some idiot totaled it. So then I used the insurance money and bought the same car again. Big mistake since it turned out to be a money pit. With a budget of 3k i'd def go for a honda.

First was an 87 S-10, after that it was an 84 S-10, than an 81 S-10. Trucks were bulletproof and I put them through hell. Never paid more than $250 for one. Prices on them have gone up like crazy though.

92 caravan. Beat the shit out of it. Engine ended up blowing up with like 240k on it. Most comfortable / convenient vehicle I've owned.

btw I love the body style.. I have been thinking of getting rid of it for a late 80's one rather then solid axle swapping mine but I want something a little different than the average guy out mudding

Geo Tracker son! I've only seen a few, but they are always tear shit up. I used to have a badass 88 3.0 Toyota, Motor was bulletproof and we ran the absolute dogfuck out of it. Seen a couple 22Rs that did pretty well too.
