Not exactly cheap. It's a 1 piece unit bearing. He has to replace the whole hub. With OEM parts it's over $300.
Jimmy can handle it though.

Thanks for jinxing it. That hub was a cock sucker to get off.

On all dodge / ram trucks with a 4 bolt hub assembly there is a trick you can use that works every time except for this time. Back the bolts out flush with the hub, the put a socket and extension on the bolt head and simply turn the wheel till the extension hits the axle housing.

This time I tried it figuring it would be simple and 5 mins of work. Cranked so hard on the wheel that it literally snuffed the motor out.

So... 1 cutting torch and a new axle nut on order later the shit is off. Luckily was able to save the threads so the only part im out is the nut. The hub itself did come off with a little coaxing from the torch and a 20lb maul. I've never had one this hard before.... Even 300k+ trucks from the early 90's have been easier than this damn thing.

Parts will be in tomorrow and the old pig will be back on the road again.

Ford - a good car. My friend has a Ford Fiesta and he likes to repair / upgrade his car. He sometimes for several days did not leave the garage
