Any mods you do like a CAI or exhaust will take years just to pay for themselves. So google "hypermiling" and leave it stock.

Dont skimp on the brands of oil you use "look up some consumer reviews"
Dont hesitate to do a tune up
BG sells great kits, that when used are awesome add ons to regular maintenance
Proper tire inflation
Dont haul ass everywhere you go "drive like a white man"
Dont do ANY modifications, cosmetic OR mechanical"
Coast to your stops "no downshifting, minimal braking"

Just to touch on hypermiling

I do it in my jeep, and my jeep is rated at around 15/19 mpg.. I average about 20/21 mpg.

There really is no beneficial parts out there that will be worth the money to increase fuel milage on a civic.

If you spend 350 bucks on an intake to save you .10/mpg it would take you YEARS to pay that investment back in savings.
