But its not a normal civic, its a mugen one...........

and its still slower then a stock spirit r/t...... which is 20 years older fyi...

all it is, is a name. there is nothing about it that makes it stand out other then then name thats slapped on it...

it compares in performance to a hyundai tiburon... which is decent, but nothing worthy of anything other then title of being a peppy DD.

just cuz its badged somthing dont mean its great or means anything special.

the spirit r/t was the fastest american production car in 91 and 92 (the two years it was made) that however, does mean somthing

You do realise that the mojority of collectors cars, for expamle, the fiat 500 are not fast. Being a collectors car doesn't mean it has to be fast, just exclusive, and thus expensive.

Its irrelivant to compare it to a stock r/t and once again, proves your in inhibitions to look at something from more than one angle.

no, cuz its still a civic.

its like taking a cavalier to a collector car auction lol... what its badged whether its a special edition or z24, it dont matter cuz its still the same car, its still a daily driver. theres nothing that makes it stand out at all in looks or performance.

so therefor, a car could be rare, but has nothing more then that to back it up. theres no performance or innovation, or anything.

everyones view on a collector car is different but one thing is certain, that a civic or cavalier will never be a collector car.

now if the civic actually had somthing going for it like the ford foucs rs8, then it could be a collector. (focus rs8 have a v8 in it and makes 400hp) THAT makes it stick out from the crowd.

now if the mugen civic had a 350hp v6 or a v8 in it then it could be a collector car cuz its unique. but it dont, it still has an underpowered engine with no torque, which isnt any different then every other civic, its just slightly "tuned".

a slight tune or mod wont make it a collector, it has to be outrageous and one of a kind, like the focus with the v8

Again, you have missed the point. It doesnt have to have power, to be a collectors car. Morris minors, Triump heralds, Rover P1's they are all slow as shit, but collectors cars. Power has NOTHING to do with it.

And so because it also has a civic badge on the back it can't possibly be a collectors car? Because its still a civic right?

A vauxhall carlton is a family sedan from the early 90's:

When lotus took hold of one and made the infamous Vauxhall Lotus Carlton it became a collectors car, and i tell you there is not one for sale under £300,000.

But guess what, it still has a carlton badge on the back.

i said innovative or one of a kind, some vehicles power makes them unique or one of a kind.

the civic is still a civic

other then mugen stamped on it, it makes them nothing special compared to a standard civic other then SLIGHTLY faster.

its like taking two identicle corvettes, leaving one stock and putting a CAI and exahust on the other and calling it a collector even though the difference between the two is BARELY noticeable. theres nothing unique about it, or innovative. its the same car, just with an extra badge on it.

But the fact remains that Mugen put the cai and exhaust on (they havent just an examlple)

And the sad fact is people will pay for that. If they are being produced in lesser then they will be a collectors car. If in numbers then it will be a few years, but it will happen all because of that five letter word...

i did a full car rebuild from wheel bearings, suspension, re wiring of whole car, tie rods, rack and pinon etc etc.

just in performance shit to make more hp and torque, like MAYBE 3-5k. i could look at receipts and give an exact number but nn for that imo.

i have no idea what power is till i dyno it. but it should be in the 450whp range at 25 psi with alky injection.

see, i save a lot of money building the r/t's cuz the stock rods and cranks are forged chromoly and the stock tranny/drive axels can hold up to 600hp (stock trans is a getrag heavy duty 5 speed)

so theres nn for to fork up loads of cash when the stock shit works perfect

Um

450hp with 25psi and alky? ROFL.

Friend of mine in town here has a Redline that puts down 450 at 13psi with no alky

lmao

thats nice, mines also tuned for longevity.

im driving to SDAC with my spirit this summer, its 886 miles one way and i plan on beating on it hard the whole way their, and back.

sure if i wanted to pull max power out of it, i could, but im not going to.

and fyi, alky doesnt add power by its self, so if he has alky or not makes no difference. the only difference is that my engine will run about 600 degrees cooler on the EGT's and 50-200 degrees cooler on the IAT's then his.

alky is for detonation supression and cooling, thats it.

sure "alternatively" i could run more boost with alky and not detonate and make more power, but it dont make power by its self like nitrous

it a saturn, its gonna blow up so nn for argument.

i ate redlines alive all day b4 i even built up the r/t
