Coyote swaps are common place?

Uh. No.
Lol

LS swaps are. Coyote swaps are still fairly rare. Getting more and more popular as the motors get cheaper and more aftermarket development.
But not even comparable.

it may not be as widely rampant as a ls swap.

but then again a 350 chevy has always been more popular of a swap than a 351 ford

it will continue to be that way.

the aftermarket just flat out supports it better, its cheaper and easier to get parts/build/swap

and the yote motors are not as rare as you think they are, people just use ls's because its way easier

Pretty much this. Not taking anything away from either motors, it just comes down to what you want.. But the ls has been around for 20 years and has hoooogge aftermarket base. The coyote is getting there, give it a decade.

Size is another big aspect. You can get up to 600ci in an LS now and it's about the same size/weight as a B series Honda.

Okay they might not be so rare, but they're still fairly expensive.

the LS is absolutely the cheaper platform to squeeze power out of, for now. On top of the fact that nearly every popularly modded vehicle has some form of kit for an LS swap. LS is swap king. Maybe that'll eventually change, maybe it won't. Only time will tell.
