Now that I'm having to explain every word, I used that comparison because the C7 is clearly a better car than the the camaro, therefore the M4.
The as tested price on the M4 was over $80k and it lost to a $40k camaro...
And nothing mentioned has an LS engine in it. These are all Gen V LT engines. The only parts they share are the piston pins, crank key, and a few miscellaneous bolts.
LS, LT, LQ all end up meaning the same thing. Mass produced and completely supported top to bottom by aftermarket. Which in turn means one thing, Cheaper (not cheap) power.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking them at all. The LSX is a kick ass platform. I wish I had half the aftermarket support that the GM motors do on my side of the street. Hell, even the duramax gets more support than the cummins. Not nearly the gap as the gas motors but people just like modding GM products.
