Matter of opinion. M4 would be a cooler DD. Not a whole lot of people have them.

Camaros/Vettes are the new mustang in my area... I see one every 2-3 minutes typically.

Oh, you are one of those people that cares about rarity and what other people have.

The 5th gen was a brick. It was a 2dr Pontiac g8.

The 6th gen is on the same platform as the Cadillac ATS. They cut 200+lbs and gave it more power.

Did you see the lap time the 6th gen ZL1 just laid down at the ring (7:29)? It's the street bruiser. The Z28 will be the track focused version. I expect it to go 7:24-7:26. It's a ridiculous amount of car for the money. That time is a 12 second improvement over the 5th gen zl1.

? Now you're just getting out of hand. Not everyone wants to drive a car with a LS motor in it... If he likes the M4 why does it matter that much to you?

there's a reason the LS motor is popular.. Just saying.

This coming from a mopar guy to the bone. I could have built an LSX for half of what it cost me to get my 572 hemi where it sits now.

It's cheap power I won't deny that but where did the guy say he wanted to mod the car??

C7 z06 running like 1:34 at Laguna. But I wouldn't be buying the z06... performance might be comparable after I slap the Procharger on it, but still. I would never be driving in a track like that. Most action I get year round is 1/4 mile passes at Englishtown Raceway Park besides for the spirited driving on highway occasionally. C6 numbers are kind of meaningless in this comparison. The vette is a $54k base price with 460hp 6.2l V8 while the cayman S is a $64k 3.5l V6 with 325hp... also the "extras" on the Porsche are extremely expensive like the one I'd want to build would come out to like $85k after all the optionals. Porsche tax is just lame at this point. Hard to swallow that for a entry level Porsche.

He's said he preferred many things in the C7 over the M4. I said I wouldn't buy an M4 after seeing the motor trend head to head against a 2 SS 6th gen camaro.

Now that I'm having to explain every word, I used that comparison because the C7 is clearly a better car than the the camaro, therefore the M4.

The as tested price on the M4 was over $80k and it lost to a $40k camaro...

And nothing mentioned has an LS engine in it. These are all Gen V LT engines. The only parts they share are the piston pins, crank key, and a few miscellaneous bolts.

LS, LT, LQ all end up meaning the same thing. Mass produced and completely supported top to bottom by aftermarket. Which in turn means one thing, Cheaper (not cheap) power.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking them at all. The LSX is a kick ass platform. I wish I had half the aftermarket support that the GM motors do on my side of the street. Hell, even the duramax gets more support than the cummins. Not nearly the gap as the gas motors but people just like modding GM products.
