i mean i live in california, so i dont have to deal with rust, but ive never seen that before

i have an 08 and theres no rust anywhere

I can't remember seeing anything on mine that wasn't coated except some nuts and bolts/suspension parts. That is what confuses me here. I am in love with my 14'. The only way I'd get rid of it is if I traded it in on a 6.2L/8 speed High Country. $50k for mine $68k for that one at the time.

Depending on where he is at some areas are using a pre-treatment chemical to prevent ice.

They say it's safe for cars but i'll be the first to admit that it tears shit apart. It's not only GM either... ford and dodge have the same issues up there.

Its a Chevy truck thing, see it on every truck I've worked on or drive here at work.

chevy's are junk from what i understand

bought a 92 ford f350 and that bitch is CLEAN, in the midwest

the body is a little rusty, frame has little to none, but thats understandable, its almost 25 years old, that 7.3 runs like new, and i think it runs better when its pulling a trailer than not

looked at a few 2500's, they were all rusted to shit, and needed work beyond the bottom end, plus they wanted more for em

That 7.3 runs like new because it doesn't have enough power to hurt anything... Hell... The old non-intercooled 6bt made these idi's look like a 4 banger and I'll be the first to admit that they are no power house by any standards.

The non turbocharged 7.3's are not a good towing motor.... AT ALL. I'd take an old tpi 305 over one of them.

I don't think Chevy's are junk for being used as say a work truck. Its just they have a huge rust problem and have cheap interiors. Motors are very reliable and the trucks can take a lot of abuse

That's funny because Ford and Chevy have been neck and neck for several truck generations with dodge trailing in build quality and initial quality until very recently. I thought that was universally accepted at this point. The sales prices support it too. It'It's your opinion so I'm not trying to change your mind. I simply disagree.

Because I trust some bought and paid opinions for awards in "initial and build quality". They can say what they want but the interiors are cheap and shitty in most every american build car... Hell most any new car for that matter because everything these days is built as disposable.

almost all of my friends own chevys and they love them, idk where you seeing quality issues, but i just flat out dont see it.

the only thing ive personally seen that has consistently fallen apart was dodge interiors and ford e40d trans

and i would agree with fmx that the ford and chevy have been neck and neck with dodge behind, but more recently nipping at their heals

and at least in my own personal area/group/bubble what ever you want to call it, toyota/nissan all an afterthought

At this day you can go buy a Ford, GM, or Dodge and the only thing that honestly makes any difference to the buyer is the way the truck looks.

All 3 are reliable, good for their intended use, and simply work for the price.

Never thought i'd see the day I say that but it's been the case for the last 3-4 years now.
