But bigger isn't always better. It's what you can do with what you have to work with. Obviously a big block will produce bigger numbers but I, personally, am impressed with HP per Liter numbers.
A stock Honda B16B produces 185Hp out of a DOHC VTEC 1.6L motor. That is 115 Hp per Liter. And that is bone stock. If that doesn't impress you my friend then I don't know what to tell you.
See we are going off on a tangent again. No one is trying to roflstomp hondas. What we are talking about is the mathematical FACT that there is no replacement for displacement. End of discussion. I'm not saying you should have more. I don't care what you do. All of my cars are small blocks...
As for your tangent, the HP/L thing has never intrigued me. I really don't care since it is irrelevant in motorsports. And last I checked NHRA Pro Stock engines are the undisputed kings of hp/L for naturally aspirated automobile engines. They are over 180hp/L. Single cam in block 500 ci big blocks with hemispherical heads just like the American manufacturers designed back in the late 50's. Pro stock engines would make more but they have a 10,500rpm limit per class rules. If they were allowed to buzz them as high as they want they would be over 200hp/L.
