They are not that bad. You have 4cyl options available or the better choice is the 4.0l 6cyl. Granted some econobox 4-banger import will prob' get you a little better gas mileage but guarantee those econoboxes will not last as long and will have more service upkeep.

Want better gas mileage? Just slow down.

What's the closest large city to ya? I wanna search craigslist and find ya a Jeep. lol.

Miata's are great cars but the sudden upkeep needed will bit you in the ass if you buy one for 3k. Guarantee it'll be difficult to find a good Miata for 3k.
just imo.

I suppose it also depends on your winters. lol. We get a lot of snow, so I voted Jeep Cherokee.

Seen a few Volvo s70r around here for $3k, they're great cars.
