I dont care about fuel economy and fuck the pcv system. Its why i had to put a catch can on. Within 3k miles the entire can will be full. If i didnt have that it would gunk up my intake manifold and tb like it did on my last challenger and charger that didnt have it.
The thing is with a lot of the newer hemi cars, 2011+ specifically, is that they can reach upwards of 230 degrees on the coolant. They run extremely hot. Not on my car im sure but people in the south complained on the forums of that and running the 180 tstat vs the 195 stock one made a huge difference a long with running the one fan always on and lowering the start temp of the other.
The pcv may suck but the corrosive compounds that build up in oil without the pcv working properly will eat your engine from the inside.
Most cars factory on temp for the high speed fan is 230 or 235 now. Thats why their gauges are dummy gauges that read a range. They dont want people panicking at 230. You want your low speed fan on 15 degrees higher than your t stat temp and off at 5 above tstat temp. You don't want it running all of the time or the thermostat can't function properly.
A 180 isn't terrible. My trans am had a 160 in it when i bought it and i couldn't even defrost the windshield. I promptly put a stock 195 back in it. Running the engine too cool is as bad as too hot. There's a laundry list of reasons.
