How are they better cars?  Because audi, porsche and BMW make them?  The evo is tried and true...  4 doors, can handle a slalom better than most of the cars listed up there, fast and fun on the straight, repairs and regular maintenance isn't a wallet breaker, etc.

And the target audience is completely different..  Mitsubishi has left room for interpretation on what YOU think the model track car should feel like...  that little 2.0 that's pumping out 300hp already is good for 450hp before you really start stepping into the realm of "expensive" upgrades like building the block up.  Do that to liliterally any of the above cars..  oh wait, you cant..

They aren't better, they're just different.

The performance isn't the problem with the EVO is the build quality. Thin metal, thin paint, and an assortment of random drivetrain issues.

My 335i comes with 30o and for $1200 you can get 450 to 500

New bmw m4s come with 450 and cab get 600 easily before breaking $2000

For 35k, the quality of the car is great... We don't know how well this next and last model will be built, it's all pure speculation.

Your 335i also comes with an open diff, a hpfp almost guaranteed to fail, and problematic turbos.

You aren't breaking 600 hp in an M4 for $2k.

yeah you are

you get a larger intercooler and charge pipe and a tune to 16-20 lbs of boost

my 335i does not have problematic turbos
still running originals at 105k miles

my fuel pump is fine, they did a recall and released a fixed one

but lets not bring up the problems that all evo's have l0l0l

Prove it. Show me a dyno and cost breakdown.

How loud is your wastegate? lol. Even the fixed pump still isn't 100%.

Evo problems are as follows:

ACD Pumps
IX MR Transmissions are weak at more than stock power
SST Transmissions are a joke
Transfer cases become problematic at higher power
Thin Metal
Thin Paint

Thats really it. Most EVO problems are caused by an improper build and not the fault of the car.

the wastegate only rattles when the car is cold, and its not even an issue, the metal expands as it heats up so the actuator fits properly, if it didnt rattle while cold, it would expand and apply too much friction

the m4 is basically a new and improved n54 that comes with MORE power at LESS boost

do you even know why they REALLY dropped the n54?

because how are you going to sell an m3 for $20-30k more than a 335i, yet the 335i will make MORE power with $1500 in parts

now they just had to kill the problem at the root, drop the 335i coupe completely because this things such a beast, noone wants to buy any other models

You're misinformed/delusional. The M4 makes more power at less boost because its a bigger turbo. Learn how boost works.

The M3 is a different car than the 335i is many ways other than the power. Not that it really matters, the majority of people buying a new M3/M4 just want it for the name. The N55 is capable of making near the same power as well.

The actual reasons they shipped to the N55 were drive-ability, reliability, and cost. That's it, nothing to do with the M3.

Thats funny because all my friends with the n55 envy me because they are always blowing a turbo

Bigger turbo = more air required to make the same boost

Please explain how thats more efficient lol

I dont even want to get into this argument with someone as ignorant as you. This is probably the biggest argument between turbos

Neither N54 or N55 are "always blowing a turbo". You're pulling shit out your ass. N55 turbos are not experiencing the issues N54 turbos were.

Bigger turbo, less psi, more power. That's it. Nothing to do with efficiency.
