I do a 4BT and turn it up before I'd drop a 6.9 IDI in there. This is just me, but the power level would be about the same or better, the fuel mileage would be way better, it is way smaller and easier to swap, and it is a lot lighter. They are also readily available from your local scrap yard that has old bread trucks laying around.
Amen to that. He wanted the zf5 tranny to swap, not the motor though.
Still can't believe what they are getting for them 200k+ mile 4bts though... God damn
