with an open cockpit and the drivers head exposed i dont see how anyone feels that it is a safe car to begin with.

they need to remove the traction control and remove that DRS. i dont see how much more your racing can be manufactured than to have an adjustable wing and tell the driver if you are within 1 second and you hit the designated zone you can activate this special system that will allow you to pass  your competitor easily. whatever happened to flat out outdriving the other people?

Without the DRS the finishing order would be the same as the starting order. Nascar completely changed the aero package on their cars multiple times to make passing easier. F1 cars move way more air. It's almost impossible to pass because they lose downforce when they get close.

Open wheel racing sucks except for winged and non winged sprint cars

They got away from what it originally was so much that to me it's no longer entertaining

thats why they should be less downforce dependent. nascar is heading in the same way when aero grip outweighs mechanical grip the racing starts sucking. thats why ayrton senna could stand out the way he did he was making that car do what it did he wasnt a steering wheel holder letting aero race his car for him. nascar is figuring that out now when the car out front takes off and leaves everyone else and when someone can close on another car but cant pass. it hurts the product that fans want to buy.

lol, you do realize why F1 is so downforce dependent? It is for the safety. The cars are built to be as close to the ground as possible so that the aero grip will not let the car lose control. If you closely inspect the seconds before ayrton senna died.... you will see that his car makes sparks underneath and that might be a reason why he might have lost control of his car. The air flow was blocked underneath the car. If you are really for the safety regulations that you stated earlier when you bashed me then you should know that less downforce equals greater risk to the drivers. Going at that speed.... if you reduce the downforce then the traction from the tires(and mech grip) won't be enough to keep the car stable. Just think if a F1 car lifts a little bit off the ground...lol... its too much risk at that point :P

This is all from my own research about the engineering of F1 cars.... so if I am getting something wrong... then please tell me. :)

i didnt think they had a definite reason for the cause of crash but i heard one that even senna was trying to get fixed were some bad bumps in the area he crashed in. they would easily cause him to lose control and when he hit the curb the car was lost at that point.

and once again you cant even start to call a car safe that leaves a drivers head completely unprotected like f1 and indy car does. i cant remember the driver but i do remember a crash a few years ago a spring or something from another car crashing hit one driver in the head and he plowed full speed into the wall. it busted his helmet and they showed his face as they were lifting him out and it was something you can never forget.

Ahhh I see. Well something I know about senna was that the reason for his death is the top right tire popped off when it hit the wall and hit him in the head.... that's the main reason the crash was fatal. So I agree the cars aren't safe at all.

yeah the suspension hitting him ended his life. i think the cause of the wreck itself was inconclusive though.
