It's sad to see all of you bitching and moaning about not getting the power to the ground.

Please answer this honestly. If you have 70k (yes 70k, msrp +GG/ttL/options/ect your at 70k) you cant afford 2 new wheels and tires?

come on now.... yes dodge has loved pizza cutter wheels on cars since day one but this isnt a lambo, ferrari, bmw.... its a chrysler product. if 1500 bucks for a set of wheels and tires for the rear of the car means its a pile of shit then you might as well hate on every other american made car in this category.

How many of you run factory tires? I know we have vette, mustang, trans am, and challenger owners in here. Everybody here with those cars would change the wheels and tires. Tell me if im wrong.

The oem tires on my camaro work well. The fbodies came with Eagle F1's which were good tires for the time period. They aren't in production anymore. Both came with 275's on all 4 corners.

Depends what you consider muscle. I always considered muscle to be pre '70's (depending on vehicle)

it depends on the size of the car / how many doors it has. has nothing to do with the engine.

a large two door car is a muscle car, like the challenger, chevelle, etc.

pony cars are smaller, like the mustang and slowmaro.

im pulling that from memory from a 5-10 page write-up in hot rod magazine about 10 years ago.

To bad calling it a muscle car doesn't make it faster.

825 hp muscle car that gets 22 mpg car at 60k is crazy imo
I like vettes and camaros, ive never liked the challenger
But at that price ffs, stop hating its a nice car

Super Snake is 95k, the c7 z06 is 77k

and both cars would destroy the dodge.

also even if you dropped 20k into that hellcat to bring it to 80k price point, the C7Z would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Im not a vette guy (said that before) but when you look at the performance figures, you have to put a lot of money to get to those numbers to even perform or beat it.

if you look at it in terms of stock per stock performance, to compete with the C7Z you have to buy a car in the 1.5Mill+ range.

with 300whp sure. with 700bhp no. Any street tire is going to give you issues. I'm pretty sure the big three dont plan on putting ET street's on cars anytime soon. My point is that with 700bhp, traction is going to be an issue regardless of the tires you have. Would some 10.5's help? yes, but remember... Every car dodge has made has been a smokeshow at the track. Why should this be any different? There are times i wonder myself if there is a 8 year old in corporate that makes the tire size decision. If thats the case... the kids got it figured out lol. Small tires = good burnouts.

It's still an impressive car. Every car out there has had its flukes. Caviler steering wheels in vettes, the gt500 that suffered the same issues this car does. It's all changeable. Nothing to worry about

too bad you would have to chop off 1/3 of the car to deal with the fat issue.

no, just buy a viper.

I've owned 11 new corvettes (base models, Z06s and a ZR1) in the last 14 years (heavily modified every single one of them). Suffice it to say, I am the quintessential Corvette enthusiast. With that being said, I just bought a Gen V viper.

I love the Viper. It's pure sex. Everyone asks me what kind of Ferrari it is.. It's truly a world class exotic sports car!

However, I'll probably end up buying a C7 Z06/7 next year (and keep the Viper!). I am somehwat underwhelmed about the new Z06 but in darker colors it looks pretty sexy. However, I believe they've wrung just about every bit of RWHP out of it from the factory.. It won't be easy to mod as the last ZR1 was!!!

Pluses and minuses to consider regarding the two cars you mention:
Minuses:
Most Viper owners are real jack asses (seriously..)
The Viper is HELL to drive if you are 6'2 or over.. (I'm 6'3)
Very limited tuning options..

Pluses:
Viper is exotic as hell. You will have people asking you about it all the time (stop lights, gas stations, et cetera).
you can throw a 200 shot of Nitrous and headers on the car and run 9's all day...
It's very very fast.
Did I mention it's very very fast?

Z06 minuses:
Everyone will have one...
Not going to wring much more power out of the platform without spending a LOT of money.

Z06 pluses:
It's cheap
It's fast..

Buy the Gen 5 - You will love it. Then, if you can swing it, pick up a Z06 if you still feel so inclined next year.

i replied to the guy saying you need a car 1.5mil+ to outperform a c7z

the whole forum thread that i took that quote from was about getting either c7 zo6 or a gen 5 viper.

the viper is superior car if you intend to use the car what it was built for. if its just gonna be a boulevard cruiser then get whatever is cheaper (slowvette or w/e else you are looking at) but if you want something that will annihilate pavement and instantly put you in the cockpit of a car thats name has a top 10 ring time, then get a viper.

im currently scoping out a 2010 viper ACR-X, the model that has the 6th fastest lap time at Nurburgrin. Deciding if i want to bite the bullet on it..would require me to sell my new challenger i just bought but, i would, in the end, have the exact viper with the most championship wins.

this is the exact car im looking at.
