I want to say the only difference is the displacement and power levels.  2010 should be the last year before they went common rail with the DEF system.  So your engine is actually EPA 2007 compliant built in 09.  The bad news is it does have a regen cycle. I don't have any personal experience with the ISX but I know the DEF system Cummins uses in the 6.7's is very effective and quite reliable.

To me that means it is the EPA 2007 compliant engine, not a model year 2007 engine. So it has DPF and Regen but no PPI (Panther Piss Injection)

You got me interested and I started doing some reading. You have about 500-600k miles before it will probably need a camshaft put in it. It wouldn't hurt to have it inspected at 500k.
