Get the speed3. You won't be happy with a 3....

I drive a 3 now. I have liked it since I got it a few years ago.

If thats the case then why are you thinking about buying a subpar econobox for 20k? There's a lot better options..

It's just a fun car to drive in general. The extra power is there just to have fun with.

I am also looking at both slightly used brz/frs too. I still am shopping around for the best deals in my area. They wouldn't budge on that black speed3 though. I got them to 17 but at 50k it wouldnt cut it for me.
Peruzzi has one for 18k tagged for 32k, 2012 and is pretty nice. I still am ultimately undecided because they are all nice cars.

Also, my insurance is a factor. The mazdaspeed will only increase my insurance my 20-40 per month, whereas a frs or brz will be substantially higher.

None. Dealerships prefer payments these days. Makes them more money.

Not true, you must have never bought from a dealership.

the actual dealerships dont make money by sending you to "Chevy" or "honda" financing.. they get kick backs from the dealership for moving cars and "units" etc, they get bonus bucks and shit like that. they might have ate the cost on one and need to make money off of this one, so they might stick to the price, or vice versa. I personally think if you walk in there with a check then you could get it for 15.5k. Buy here Pay here places make their money off of financing because theyre the ones that get the interest... big dealers dont.

this.

The dealerships I went to go to 3rd parties for the loan. (The big chains like peruzzi, Mccaferty)

The first ones that popped up for both dealerships was my bank loan that I previously applied for.

The only dealerships that care about cash now are the little ma and pa type dealerships. Big dealerships dont give a fuck because they end up making more money off of you if you make payments/lease. (fees and interest)

/e Its a fact that dealerships make less profit on cash purchases.

I work a commission job were I make more money if I get people to finance things lol. I know how it works there Bob Marley

The fact that he can walk away with the vehicle let's the salesman know that he isn't just there kicking tires.

I've never seen someone go to a dealership being interested a car and if they walk away not have them call back... Unless you just have terrible salesman in your area.

You guys are wrong. A simple google of "is cash king at a dealership" explains that it simply is not anymore.

For the specific dealership I went to, which is a big dealership, they did not do the financing themselves.
Also, even if the dealership does finance, then they have to wait longer for the profit. The fact that cash is paid means a quicker profit which in turn can get me a better deal in the end.

I enjoy their cars.

I don't want an m3

College/house/other bills, and I don't want to run into problems which will drain my savings.
That is why I will either get a brand new car or close to brand new.

Total $ paid + fees + interest > cash now

And they know that.

/e If you're that worried about the second part, just get a damn honda.
