It has a lot to do with altitude. The higher your altitude the less octane you need. Colorado sells 85 octane as regular unleaded. we are near sea level and most of our stations sell 93. Some chains do have 91 though.
When I had my last STi, I was in Ft. Hood, TX, therefore having 93 and E85 tunes.
