I with I had the space to start a build. Thats one of the few things I hate about living in an apartment right now. But $475 a month makes it pretty sweet.

I just dont know if I have the time to take it on as a project. Idk how much of the nice ones are custom work vs bolt ons.
I can manage bolting stuff on if I drive to my parents for a weekend but I dont have the space for a full build.
Thats one nice thing about a wrangler, pretty much anything I want is an easy install

You can buy one already done. do long as you can maintain it that is the easiest and cheapest way by far.

also fmx and some of the others know my opinion of Tim Cameron, he can over build a buggy, but he cant drive worth shit, hes just a point and hammer down guy, he would get eaten up if he ever tried running ultra 4 or king of the hammers

hes a retard and gives the sierra club perfect examples of irresponsible off roading

I completely disagree. He is a hell of a driver. No he doesn't build the rigs himself and yes most of them are "over built" but they are sick regardless.

He would do just fine in King of the Hammers or Ultra 4 imo.. A lot of the rigs he plays with run them and he is a better driver than most of them id say.

Just because he is flooring it to make it up shit doesn't mean he sucks... 90%+ of the shit he does is impossible to crawl

Edit - Check out the vids of him @ the Gorilla Run.. he is pretty good and his rig is pretty much bulletproof so it makes for a hell of a combo

the guys he runs with are all point and floor it guys, that shits fucking lame, he has no throttle control, he cant pick a line worth shit, and the only reason he is well known is because of his over built buggys and keeping the pedal held long after it should be.

I love it... It takes the one aspect that I didnt care for of out of rock crawling and that is the slowness and how drawn out it is.

I wish I had the $$$ to build a rig and not give a shit and just point and shoot with the throttle pinned on my Big Block chevy spinning @ 7000rpm

I separate crawling and what he does in my head. I don't even compare them. To me he is showing what a well built rig is capable of. Yes people crawl on the east coast. No, its not as big as it is out west.

Our rock is different. I know this first hand from riding trails bikes. The Appalachian mountains are far older than the rockies. The rock is smooth weathered granite. Its slick when it is dry. Wet tires or any moisture makes them as slick as ice. We would go out west and I would look at a rock face and say no way. There is no way I can get up that. I would enter my section, hit the obstacle, and fly right up it. The traction in the rocks is completely different. It's like riding on 40 grit sandpaper. So at that base level crawling the more extreme stuff is impossible over here due to tire limitations and available grip. That is why rigs like his get so much attention over here.

That style measures your wallet and balls.

Crawling is wallet and skill.

I try not to confuse the two.

As for the sierra club, all of his practice and most of the events are on private property. We never get to have off road events in national forests over here. Most of them don't even allow OHV access. That is why they are so west coast-centric

Dont get me wrong I love crawling and I most likely wont be able to afford anything like that rig in the distant future so I will have to stick to crawling anyways..

Still awesome to watch though imo
