Mustang was on the corn putting down around 700 hp easily into the 10's. Zl1 was mid to high 10's with a laundry list of mods, mainly the triple power adder (supercharger, meth, spray). The video they posted, the mustang clearly made power and walked him even on the 75 shot. And mustang was on 9 pounds of boost and the zl1 13-15
It's funny because the zl1 owner shit talked the 5.0, which is funny when you have to compare his 80k car (with mods) to the 36k mustang (with mods).
And now he has the camaro up for sale which supposedly has nothing to do with getting raped by the 5.0 lolol
You dont buy a zl1 to drag race. The blower will only make about 650whp before it signs off. Its a road course/touring car. It does exactly what chevy intended it to do. If you want to drag race you buy an SS and start from there. Whoever said they dont pay attention when building anything but corvettes is blind. Look at the price brackets... why would they build a camaro that lays the wood to the gt500 out of the box in every area (it does beat it around most road courses) when it is not their halo car? If that is what you want they put you in a vette. Ford doesn't have anything other than the mustang so it gets their best efforts.
Also, meth isnt a power adder. He was spraying meth and a 75 shot to cool his intake air temp because he had the blower maxed out.
For the 5.0 vs LS3 thing... they are opposites. One has vvt and ohc with really high flowing heads and sissy girl displacement. The other has really high flowing heads and big displacement with a really mild cam and tune.
The 5.0 can make what? 450ish whp with bolt ons and aggressive tune? The tune is effectively changing the cam specs. The LS3 can make 480ish whp with bolt ons and a big cam without touching the heads. Different means to the same end. The difference is the LSX stuff is based on proven technology and interchangeability. That makes parts really really cheap. Everything you do to them is effective too. They all come in a mild state of tune. Look at the LS7... N/A 427 that makes 450whp with a table top torque curve and a 7000rpm rev limit.
Port the stock intake, mildy port the heads, long tubes, big cam -580whp. 580whp. Say it to yourself again. 580whp, N/A, hydraulic roller, pump gas, 7200rpm, 20mpg, small block. That is nuts. That is the same or a little more power than that blown GT500.
Man up and respect both platforms for what they are.
