the 2 sure fire ways to get out of a red light camera ticket are:
1. if you are part of a funeral
2. if you were ticketed by an officer for the same offense



in all the states ive seen a red light camera ticket is not a moving violation and does not count against your points or increase your insurance. this is because the ticket is issued to the car owner, not the driver. if you want to give advice like you know what you are talking about, at least try to know what you are talking about.
you are giving horribly stupid advice because you think this is all a case of "the Man" just trying to get money.

you posted the video, you clearly did not stop before turning right on a red light. an actual officer would have never given you a ticket for that, shit happens.
if you want to do something about it then lobby to your local government and get these cameras taken down.

its a fucking red stop light. he did not stop at it when it turned red. thats illegal even in wisconsin. it doesnt have to have any extra signs up its illegal no matter what state you are in. its called disobeying a traffic control device.

You ran it, no sense in disputing it. It was yellow for a bit and your car wasn't even in the frame yet. You clearly had enough time to slow down. When the light turned red you were just then appearing on the frame looking like you didn't even bother trying to stop.

Of course the ticket is issued to the car owner... they send it to the plates registered name/address... that doesn't mean that person is guilty of the crime/infraction they are claimed to have commit.
Which is why they let you contest it...

New York where you cannot even contest it, the company that runs the cameras, sends the pic's to the police, they compare the face and plate numbers in the pictures to the drivers licence .. yes by hand, and when they send you the ticket... it's a picture of your face behind the wheel of your car along with the ticket.

But he recently posted his state does not give points, so i agree with just paying the 85 if that's the case in his state.

Don't run red light with obvious cameras if you don't want to pay the tickets. It's very clear that you both ran the red and could have easily stopped.
