I think the driver has a lot to do with how long the car will last....

my parents bought a ML 320 back in 2000 as a 2000 model

i was young kid so i didnt care/know about cars

but as i got older and started liking cars my dad was telling me stories about how terrible the ML was and how unreliable it actually is

window wipers stuck half way across the windshield, power windows stuck half way down.. dumb shit like that. They also drove a lot of highway everyday about 40~ minutes to go to work and back.

not quite sure how many KMs he got out of it, but the electronics were terrible. At that time my parents bought it for $40k and couple years maybe 4-5~? they sold it for $9k

also have a friend and she drives a ML as well same body style probably an 03 model, has tons of problems with it, luckily her brother is a mechanic and all she pays for is parts

hit and miss? dunno

Only electrical problem that I forgot to mention was having an issue with the sunroof. Cost around $1k to fix at MB.

Other than that and the catalytic converters and fuel pump, no issues at all.

my dad probably paid around 1k~ or couple hundred for those fixes, not sure how warranty worked back then, never asked him

it's just not the car, but the brand it self you're gonna have to pay more money if it's a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Acura because they are luxury brands to get stuff fixed and parts

though for the japanese brands and audi it can be cheaper going to the parent company, nissan, toyota etc cuz they share some parts and i know for a fact that toyota mechanics knows how to work on a lexus rx.

like nissan sticks a VQ v6 in everything they make so fixing/finding parts is easy same goes for honda.

pretty cool imo but makes the brand "less luxurious" to some people, i personally like it

bmw and merc is stuck at that
