Rev matching isnt an "issue".
Its how you properly down shift without using the clutch to absorb the difference in inertia.

I did say I know what they are, I ment 'issue' as in synonym for topic.....

Because every other car group does it without thinking so no one ever talks about it.

It serves no purpose in a synchronized transmission. In a non synchronized transmission you have to release the clutch and blip the throttle in neutral to manually synchronize the speed of the input shaft to the intended speed of the crankshaft then depress the clutch and downshift.

much easier to not use the clutch at all with unsynchro trans.

True on the big stuff. I've driven a faceplated T56 and the builders are adamant that you still use the clutch on upshifts and double clutch when a downshift is required but that is a race only applications. Faceplating is a newer, stronger version of pro shifting. Import guys would call a pro shifted trans a dogbox.
