Today was a snow day. So I got to play with my steering wheel.

My paint guy failed me, I asked for non metallic, but I think now it may have been a blessing in disguise. The flake seems to mimic/goes well with the carbon on the horn button.

After spraying and seeing it in person, I'm a fan. I think it looks beautiful.

Here's the base coat

And some clear. Initial spray pictures (no justice given). I CAN'T WAIT to unwrap it all tomorrow and assemble the wheel!

More to come. Stay warm all!

nice!

Thanks!

The first thing I did this morning...Haha

Unwrapped, still bad lighting, and roughed together. I'm going to buff the button to a nice finish once the clear has a chance to cure fully.

Hopefully you get the idea. Personally, I think it's gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in the car.

When I got the wheel this morning, I forgot the grab a piece required for assembly, so that picture will come tonight probably.

Now I have something to stare at while I'm away from home. Nice!

Thanks, I emailed the wheel people this morning, and I hope to hear back in the next day or so. Sometimes I even forget I bought wheels, as it was so long ago now...Haha. Fingers crossed.

That's one hell of a compliment, thanks!

Haha, I like challenging myself; If I don't know how to do something, or I don't understand something and it interests me, I usually take it upon myself to learn as much on the subject. DIY projects like these shortly follow there after.

Honestly, I don't think there is anything I CAN'T do... It's all about proper motivation, perseverance, and WANTING it.

I want to be able to do ANYTHING. And all these skills make it possible.

Also! My snowboard core is all epoxied together, so I will soon stick it in the CnC machine, and make myself a snowboard. Woot!

Since it seems you've got the means and motivation to try new(ish) things on your creations....
Have you ever tried immersion printing/hydrographics? They have a few diy kits available.
