Pretty messed up. Our local gets double time on weekends, time and a half during the week , over 10 hours double time with meal allowance. no Christmas bonus, but a good wage package with benefits and $5.10 an hour into your retirement fund. $125-200 a day Living out allowance ( if working out of town ) or camp with fly in/ fly out covered.

Oh ok.
I been working near ft st john bc/dawson creek area for a few months. I fly back out there on the 27th.
Next fall i think im going to take industrial mechanics and get out of the oilfield.

I might go work in Dawson or kitimat. Currently not working , but I'm in no rush to go lol. Probably not that nice up there.

Yeah there is absolutely no reason to deal with a shitty union as an industrial electrician. You guys are in such high demand it is crazy.

Im starting my 4th year as an apprentice, so I have to finish it at least, or these last 3 years would have been in vane.

Our annuity sucks, it's around 1.40 an hour.. our benefits are OK at best, but our bargaining is going away because of these rat ass contractors

Don't you have an apprenticeship training authority?. They keep a record of your hours and school completion. Its 4 years of school + Redseal exam and I think 6200 hours of work where I live. I'm sure its a bit different where you are.
