Temporarily a 6 speed rx-8 but normally I drive a 12 escape since I am practical and live in the north, I need a car that's good in snow instead of living in NY and having an automatic mustang for the winter as my only car rofl

Less engaging is an understatement. One of the main things that make street cars fun is being able to row your own gears. I stick to my statement that you don't buy an auto mustang unless your an old guy, girl or just buying it to have a "sports car".

Everyone has their own opinion. Guys on ls1tech are usually die hard 6 speed lovers until they get ass shafted by an auto car with less mods. Not everyone enjoys rowing gears. I do, much more than most. I had 3 MT vehicles at one point. Now I have 2 MT and one auto. Im getting older and I understand some people not wanting a stick shift. The only place I miss the manual in my Camaro is at the drag strip. It is boring because it is stock. Autos get fun in the low 12's to high 11's imo. Before that the manual keeps you occupied so you don't notice how slow it is.

I didn't go out looking for an auto 5th gen. It fell in my lap. After 8k miles I don't hate it. I always thought I would.

Thats all I would ever put on an AR. Saving for either an M&P 15 or a Bushmaster Carbon 15 with an EOTech red dot. Spent quite a bit on guns and ammo the last few months so im trying to take it ez haha

You are mechanically inclined. Build your own. I have $650 in mine without the optic and it's equivalent at Academy Sports is over $1200. It is really not that complicated.

We have this wonderful place called Palmetto State Armory up the road in columbia. They can't be beat for price:quality ratio. They are down the street from FN's facility and all of their store brand stuff is FN for the most part. The PSA branded barrel in my AR is the same heavy barrel used in the M249 SAW. It was made in the same FN facility in Columbia that builds the SAW. They have shaken up the AR world by out pricing people with quality parts. Unfortunately most of their shit is out of stock.

That is what everyone has been telling me except the only AR's I really shoot are my bros M&P and my buddies Del-Ton. I guess I know what I like from each but I have never really looked at the ins & outs of AR's so I would really just be throwing parts together. I need to do some forum searching for popular builds to get an idea of what I might want out of mine.

It's a lot easier than you might think, there are tons of guides also. If you're really wanting to drop big money on an pre built AR, get a Daniel Defense.
