Is that a shift light next to your strut tower? Lol if so how is that going to work, gonna drive around with the hood off?

Thats the "inspection lamp". Its the only thing I decided to keep, after strpping all the unnecessary junk from my bay.

Comes in handy if you had to check fluids on the side of the road.

But thanks guys. Im really beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But once again...Im out of parts and things to do to the car til i get my last needed pieces.

Hoping that will change soon.

That's pretty nifty, these older cars certainly have their quirky surprises, I've never seen anything like that before.

What do you still need parts-wise to get it running?

okay so today I was paid 400 dollars, from a different source.

I need 4 things (plus engine oil)

1. Greddy Type RZ Blow off valve ($275)

2. Relay cable - connects the relay board to the ecu, mounted in the cabin ($100)

3. Stimluator board- tests the system before I plug in my ECU ($70)

4. Megasquirt II ECU pcb v3.0 ($450)

Money is in the bank and I am ordering my Blow off Valve and my relay cable tonight or tomorrow morning.

Then it's down to two....

Really fugging close.....I can feel it.

Apparently, it would seem, that THE DAY I go to order my GReddy RZ blow off valve from GReddy, they discontinued the design...And are now offering a new design...The FV, which offers a new "floating valve" that apparently will operate wonderfully, but it's been untested by the public as of yet...
Which does not release until late this month.....Talk about lame.....

This is the new design....If only it didn't have the blue....

It releases 6/24/13 so I'd have to wait 10 days, which probably wouldn't make or break anything, I just find it funny that the day I go to order, they stop carrying the damn valve I want, and offer no comparables until the new one releases. Haha.

Here is the TYPE RZ. The one I wanted.

So given that information what would you do?

Search for a true RZ and hope its authentic?

or buy the FV from GReddy and not know what to expect. For all I know it could sound awful too. Lots of unknowns.

So, that's this morning's thought process..

Let me know what you think.

Search internet for the one you want. They discontinued it but somebody still has one available.

It would appear this is harder than one would anticipate...

First 3 shops I've called, all no goes. Ordered from another, now pending refund. Same story...

They all said roughly the same thing.

"we're sold out, they discontinued the design, are releasing a new design, do I want the new design instead?, are you sure?, are you really sure you're sure?"

Whodathunk it? That after doing the hard part of designing and building my motor from scratch, I'd have the hardest time of all ordering a damned blow off valve.

It's funny how things pan out sometimes :)

But aha! I found 8 of em on a shelf............In western Canada, haha.

So I'll be HOPEFULLY locking in on one of those within moments, potentially.

Will update

I've never commented on this thread I don't think, but I've been following it since you started it. You've been doing an awesome job, it's cool to see it so close to completion!

Looking forward to some finished pics and maybe a walkaround vid w/ audio?

Where do you live, just out of curiosity?
