Only a tiny percentage of these things actually get raced. Of those that do I'd bet 3 are getting drag raced for every 1 that goes on a road course. It is less engaging but the overall experience of the car is still good. No you can't rev match downshift into a corner but how often do you actually do that? Driving around in traffic at the speed limit is exactly the same experience.
Less engaging is an understatement. One of the main things that make street cars fun is being able to row your own gears. I stick to my statement that you don't buy an auto mustang unless your an old guy, girl or just buying it to have a "sports car".
