That 2500 is a lot heavier. The Gen 3 rods are weaker but RPM kills rods, not hp. Keep the RPM low (under 6k) and it will live. As far as 93 goes... With 16lbs of boost on my 408 I am running 23 degrees of timing with no knock spraying 2 15gph meth nozzles at 60% from 2psi up. Without meth I have to pull the timing down to 10 degrees. That's about a 200whp difference and the car feels like a slug until 5krpm when the boost really comes in. I would not contemplate running pump gas without meth as you are leaving a huge amount of power on the table. You might as well stay N/A if you are going to do that.

I think you posted in the monte carlo thread, 496bbc brodix heads 10.1:1 in my 86 monte, complete budget build, home built, forged, about 600 on motor at the tire, stock block, th400, 9" 3.89 gear, and a 10pt cage "Street" car, not a daily but she could other then the 4500stall converter and the 3.89 gear, she hates the interstate

No updates on my truck, but we did make some progress on the rat rod, 700$ driveshaft came in yesturday (because its so long pst told us to use 4.5" aluminum shaft) and we plumbed everything on the truck and wired up switches and set up the new fuse panel (we cut absolutely everything electrical out to start fresh)

Alittle wiring and some headlights/taillights and we'll be ready

Hoping to have the rat rod ready for nmca on march 5th, all the mustangs do a cruise and meet at hooters and we crash the party with our chevys B), ill be in the monte and matt in the rat rod

also we're headed to west palm for a race this weekend with jays 69 firebird, hoping to take home the cake!
