And when I was digging through the garage I found a remote filter I had lying around for some reason so figured why not, plus its a good place for a trans temp gauge

Heres some pictures of people doing stuff

My buddyRyan welding some nuts onto the fancy lock lug nuts so the tires could come off

My buddy Peter drilling some holes for the tow hooks

and since apparently the plastic piece that makes the rubber shift boot work got tossed I "fabbed" up with thing with some scrap and a subaru shift boot that has some sweet cigarette holes in it from my buddys new DD since he had a replacement in stock

Also both sway bars were removed as well as the rear bumper

it runs!

things left to do.

Water temp guage (maybe?)
battery hold down
Fill the 8.8
Lights
Get nut for the bolt in the alt
Apply window banner sticker and green sticker

so our first/most important task of Sunday was to get the 2 bolts out of the block that were broken off
1 was flush, 1 was sunk in. My buddy machined these little hex deals, with a tapered hole, and the back side was coned to get inside the hole.

they worked great and he made relatively short work of them.

while he was doing that we finished up pluming the trans filter lines and ran the trans temp guage (even tho it says its water(no one had an actual trans so w/e))

then we got the new pulley mounted up, thats probably the nicest piece on the whole truck, made sure to put some grease on it to make it blend in.

then we got to cutting off the "free flowing" exhaust, just after the first cat, and the cat is in good unmangled reusable shape.

then we went about replacing the auto hubs with manual ones and checking the bearings.

everything felt good, and didnt look/smell burnt up and they spun free/felt good so we added some new grease and put em back in

thats about it for now minus the few little things that may/may not happen

Shift boot holder is sweet looking!

Love everything.

That shell looks to be real solid too. Color me jealous.

custom fab lol, you inspire

also yeah the tub is super clean, minus some old age dents and dings and some pealing clear, no rust at all, california+underside coated with oil/grease grime, looks like it had a p.s. and rear main seal leak at 1 point, but it runs great
