i'm super broke at the moment, and an 8.8 has the same lug pattern as my current wheels, and parts are like a dime a dozen where i am (so cal) for the 8.8 rear ends.

if i had unlimited funds the bitch would be linked with a currie rear end :(

one of the biggest reasons im going with the ford rear end is because 90% of all of the ford ranger 8.8's are 58-1/2" WMS-WMS, and so is my current axle, so tire fitment in the fenderwells would not be a problem
also they come standard with limited slip (which to do to my rear diff would be 600$ plus labor since i dont have a bearing press at my disposal..)
and a ring and pinion set is around 100-200 instead of 250-400

yeah but 5x5.5 wheels are everywhere and cheap

come up here and ill give you a full set for a 12 pack

you dont want anything to do with an 8.8

they are c clip, you break an axle your fucked

put a full float 9inch in it and be done

C clip eliminator kit.

8.8's are everywhere here for dirt 9's are expensive and few and far between. All the drag car guys have more money than the off-road bunch it seems lol.

9's are everywhere up here and they very in size

And I'd say the off-road guys are spending just a bit less than drag guys, unless your talking desert truck and the. It's even, probably more for the truck

Also I know a ton about the 8.8 they came stock in Broncos. I also know that are pieces of shit unless you wana be a parking lot queen

For what he wants an 8.8 is fine, he's not building a rock bouncer lol.
But for me 60's or nothing. Incoming 6.4 super duty next year can't wait.

I like to do a lot of 3d printed parts when possible. That's about as custom as I get though. Obviously most of it is cosmetic shit.
