That's actually really good given the circumstances.

Yea not bad at all. I'm surprised you got that much going back in to trade. Was it the same dealership for both purchases?

Personally, I don't think I did too bad....I paid 29k OTD for the Premium WRX, I got 26.5k for it trading it in with 7k miles on it.......you're never going to break even on a trade-in, ever...shit, brand new cars depreciate the second they're driven off of a lot, so yeah. I had alot of equity in the WRX because I essentially put half down when I bought it, and I put a bit more cash on top when I bought the STi, so my payments are basically the same...I guess I lost a few grand....in the grand scheme of things who gives a shit about a couple grand

Wow. I wish German got that kind of trade in value.

I think I lost like at least 5-8k the moment I drove it off the lot...

Speaking of which, is there any website that gives a good estimate on how much "you lose by driving it off the lot"

Not really liking the color though.

Yes, it was. Obviously all dealerships are in the business to make money, and I'm sure this one still makes some money on their sales, but a majority of it is repeat customers; the place is a tiny little lot located in the middle of nowhere, small family operation, been there forever. I brought in my WRX with a bad tpms sensor which was my fault (had a flat and used a can of fix a flat to get it to a place to put more air in, middle of winter, driveway covered in snow, gimme a break) and they replaced it for free even though I told them it was my fault. I called inquiring about the car on Monday, they had it there and I was driving away Tuesday night, they sent some poor guy all the way from southern CT to northern NH to get it for me, like a 10 hour round trip haha.

I'm sure some aren't fond of the color, but I really like it. They're only running Galaxy Blue Pearl for 15's, 2016s are getting Lapis Blue Pearl which is the same color as the Foresters and such....World Rally Blue although iconic is just too played out to me, I really like the dark blue, it's one of my favorite colors anyway. Idk, even though I like being different this wasn't for the sake of it, otherwise I probably would've gotten either black or silver.

Subarus are I think the top brand in value retention. They sold more WRXs and STis this year than ever before, they had like 4 WRXs on their lot a few weeks ago as dealer inventory, only one was left when I went back. And it's funny because they were the Limited trim...for a few grand more (literally 2-3) you can get a base sti which has all of the features of a limited minus the all leather interior, powered seats, and sunroof...all of which I can take or leave honestly.

They even told me they're basically going to sell my car at an almost new price lol, and someone will buy it, I had some goodies in it too, short throw shifter, red interior illumination kit, and auto-dim mirror, I'm sure someone will appreciate those options.

How much is the STI and how much is regular WRX? I'd assume around 27k for WRX and 36k for STI based on my quick google search, but I'm not too familiar with this brand. Usually people who buy these cars have "must have" options; something that I wouldn't know about.

Isn't a BRZ/FRs same "level" as WRX?

when I was car shopping in May of 2014, we went to a Subaru dealer and the 2 STI's they had were 41K and 45K.

Idk what options they had but I'm assuming they were loaded up.

Dear lord, 45k for an STI?... add in 4000-5000 more and you could buy the base CLA45 AMG :/

Driver aside, numbers speak for themselves. I can see 36k-37k on an STI, but if its practically the same price. Hell, its a no brainer.
