From what others have said plus my personal experience the 3.8 is very reliable.

Idk all the trannys that came with them but I've had experience with 2 4l60es, people say they are meh. But I've had no problems.
My mom has a 3.8 buick with that tranny. She had over 300k miles on the motor and trans like 2 years ago, Idk how much she has now but both are original and run great haha.

/And those turbo Buick Grand National GNX were teh sex with the turbo 3.8 back in the day. Faster then the vette back then.
