they did or i wouldnt be going for it. 2500 down all taxes fees etc included. i was looking at a fuckin altima and it was like 200 a month for a base model and 2000$ down...idk where u live but in new jersey thats what it is. and that altima is before taxes fees etc.

It's not where I live, I just don't know how a salesperson could get away with about a $180 difference in lease payments. It's the difference between paying $12000 over 2 years and paying $8000. They still make money because you have them free money and they get to sell your car for 80% of it's original value when they get the lease return, but what kind of sales-manager OKs that. Only reason I can see is they have way too many 2014's left and want to get rid of them ASAP. Nissan is a company who has issues with cars sitting on their lots way too long, so that could be the reason. The reason they sit on the lots too much is because their cars fucking suck but that's an entirely different issue.

But still, I wouldn't put money down on a lease. Just because they're advertising it, doesn't mean you can't get a lease without it. Especially on models that have been on the lot for way too long. Putting money down on a lease is just stupid though, just take the extra $10 a month to keep a couple extra grand in the bank. You're literally throwing away money when you put money down on a lease. If you're deadest on getting a leased Infiniti, get a deal without a down payment. Keep the money in your bank, take a higher lease payment. I would still advise getting a much cheaper car. You've never owned a car, so your insurance will be crazy. People don't really realize it but cars in the $30-50,000 range can often be cheaper on insurance than a $20,000 car (safer and less likely to be stolen/be chopped up), so that's not the issue but the fact you've never had your name on an ownership will be. Get a cheap, under $25,000 car. It makes no sense to get a new luxury car as your first car, and it especially makes no sense if you're dead set into doing it with an Infiniti. Garbage garbage garbage. Car and Driver ranks the Q60 as a distant fourth in entry level luxury coupes. It's also the most expensive one, with the worst interior, and the worst mileage.

well i have time to think still. we didnt do a deal yet or sign anything. we only put a refundable security deposit down so they cant sell it or lease it to anyone else...and it doesnt help im the most indecisive person in the world. i can still retract lol although i would look like a giant dick considering i left, came back and said i'd do it, and then go back and tell them i dont want it anymore but that doesnt really matter

It doesn't matter if you look like a dick. They're a business and they need to keep customers happy so they will never show displeasure that they couldn't complete the sale (even if they talk about you to other people at the business).

I've put in my 2 cents. I think it's a bad idea for a not so great car, but do what you think is best.

i kinda feel like im making a mistake...i mean my 02 altima has 53k miles...and no problems...backing out of the garage a few minutes ago i said to myself "theres nothing wrong with this and i got it for free...why not save money and spend it elsewhere"...im gonna be 21 this month and im gonna be going out alot etc maybe vacations...i wouldnt feel comfortable spending on things if i knew i was strapped down to a car payment with a shit part time job. i'd rather invest in a mutual fund and watch my money grow than to piss it away on a car i dont need...kinda glad i posted it here and ran into u. im pretty sure the security deposit will be refundable like he said yet we didnt get it in writing. but ill call the credit card company and tell them to not pay it/dispute it if necessary. id rather eat a small security deposit anyway than 24 months worth of payments and 2500 cash down.

it's because you are making a mistake. Why would you want your first car to be one that you have to turn in (in mind condition otherwise they bend you over) after two years? I personally wouldn't be able to justify spending that much a month when you could finance another car and actually own it. Obviously you wouldn't be able to finance that nice of a car, but honestly thats why leasing appeals to some people.

I would honestly just talk to your parents about selling or letting you completely take over ownership of the altima. Chances are I'd bet they would say yes, as long as it is not one of their daily drivers. and if they made you pay, I bet they would at least cut you a good deal. Then you can save up your money and spend it elsewhere or save up for a nicer car when the time comes.

no it is actually mine lol but they plan to sell it when i lease a car. they said they'd like for me to realistically lease or buy a car like my bro did when he was 21, but told me i could keep it till i graduate college (in 2 years). so it is actually "mine" considering they both have their own cars and so does my bro, plus they let me use theirs whenever i want. its just that when it comes time to sell it, they are gonna get the money. they paid for it all up front new in 2002 so there are no payments

So offer to buy it from them. You aren't going to find a better deal on a car than from your parents.

boom there you go. Get a part time job and save up for two years and you will probably have enough cash saved up to buy something outright or at least put a nice deposit down.

sounds much better than the alternative: having to work to afford your payments
